BIO

KIKI, 1995. Lima, Peru.

He was raised within the post-colonial context of Latin America, surrounded by patriarchal, hierarchal, racist, binary and heteronormative ideas that conditioned and influenced his daily experience with his surroundings. Given his position as a trans individual, the repression and discrimination that he experienced throughout the course of his life contributed to the development of his ego and fed his interest for activism and art.

He established his line of work throughout his course of study, which is based upon the artistic focus and approach of three main institutions; “Corriente Alterna” in Lima, “ESACM” in Clermont-Ferrand, and “NABA” in Milan. In addition, he was invited to the residencies of “Fugaz” in Lima and “MANA Contemporary” in Miami, and he contributed to the Peruvian pavilion at “ARCO 2019” by assisting the curatorial team for artist ‘Luis Enrique Zela-Koort’
